Privacy notice
How the Salisbury Hospice Midnight Walk Memory Wall uses your information.
What we collect
When you leave a message we collect the name you are walking for, your message, the name you'd like shown, and your email address. We also store a one-way hashed form of your IP address to help prevent spam and abuse.
How we use it
- Your dedication (the name walked for, the message, and the name shown) is displayed publicly on the Memory Wall once it has been checked.
- Your email address is never shown publicly. We use it only to send you a private link so you can edit your message.
- If you tick the marketing box, we add your email — with your consent — to our mailing list, which is managed by MailerLite (our email provider, acting as our data processor). You'll receive a confirmation email and will only start receiving updates once you click to confirm (double opt-in). You can unsubscribe at any time.
Editing or removing your message
The link we email you lets you edit your message. Edited messages are checked again before they reappear. To have your message removed entirely, contact us and we will delete it — and remove you from the mailing list if you were added.
Keeping your information
Messages remain on the wall as a lasting memorial across the years. Marketing consent is held until you unsubscribe. Spam-prevention data is kept only as long as needed.
Cookies
We only use essential cookies — there is no advertising or analytics tracking, so there's nothing for you to accept or decline.
- A session cookie that keeps the message form secure (it prevents cross-site request forgery and remembers your form state). It expires when you close your browser.
- A security cookie set by Cloudflare Turnstile, the spam check on the form, to tell real visitors from bots.
Both are strictly necessary for the site to work and are exempt from cookie consent requirements. We don't share this information or use it to track you across other sites. Fonts are served from our own server, so no data is sent to third-party font providers.
